Special Education Legal Fund provides grants of up to $5000 for legal support and assistance to qualifying families in Connecticut and Westchester County with children in special education.
Providing families with the knowledge and resources to successfully advocate for their children’s special education rights is the core of S.E.L.F.’s mission. Since inception in 2018, S.E.L.F. has supported 30 families in over 20 school districts with grants for legal support, advocacy, and assistance. Special Education Legal Fund also supports families with children in special education though the Parent Education Program and through the Agency Education Program, which offers nonprofit and agency partners a curriculum to assist families in navigating the special education system.
